November 19 -Day 2 Continued

Sorry about all of my grammar and spelling errors.  I wrote at 3 AM, and then went back to sleep.  When I woke up, I thought to myself -uh oh what did I write?  Well, I do teach kindergarten, thank goodness.  All of my students' parents are probably groaning as they read this.  I just figured out where spell check is, so hopefully, these will get better.  I'm speaking from the heart, so do not look at my grammar errors.  I think I'm doing pretty well, considering the time I'm writing. By the way, thanks mom for pointing this out to me.  ha ha

Chloe is doing fabulous.  She hasn't lost a lot of blood.  She is breathing well.  They want to keep her on the breathing tube, because her swelling could cut off her airway. She is extremely frustrated about not being able to speak.  She starts grabbing at me, kicking her feet, tries to sit up and tries to talk.  Which isn't good, because we need her to rest and not get agitated.  They are having to give her more sedation to keep her from doing this.  She is a fighter!

Her sisters got to see her today, and were very upset to see her in this condition.  Katie couldn't stop crying and didn't want to get close or touch her.  As she watched me she began to feel more comfortable.

She slowly got closer.  Chloe started pulling at my shirt, pointing, waving her hands, and grabbed for Katie.  She moved her legs and body all the way over to the other side of the bed.

At that point, I remembered that I laid with Chloe in her hospital bed before she went into surgery.  I asked Chloe if she wanted me to lay with her.  She waved her head violently, no.  I then asked her if she wanted Katie to lay with her and she shook her head yes.  Katie did and felt so much better.  Katie chatted with the nurses, and bantered back and forth with Tessa Chloe, and me.  We talked about things at home and silly things they did together.  Chloe was at peace finally resting.  I think she felt like she was back at home listening to her sisters just being them.

The three of them, especially Chloe and Katie have such an amazing bond, and I know part of it is because of what Chloe has been through.  The girls may fight once and a while, but they do admit they are each other's best friends.  I told Chloe that the girls will be her slaves when she gets home.  They love her so much and want her home sooooooooo badly.  Because of Chloe, our family doesn't take anything for granted, and make every moment fun.  We are blessed!

I wanted to thank all of Chloe's friends and cousins.  I know this has been tough on all of you.  Chloe has always had such a strong cousin bond.  She loves spending time with all of you.  She counts down the days for family parties.  She especially adores her older cousins Hayley and Brogan.  She looks up to you both so much and is so proud of both of you.  Emily is her twin pseudo sister because they were born a day apart.  It's great to watch them grow up together.  Of course, she adores Calli, Mackenzie,  and JT because they go to her school and/ or live so close she loves spending time with them.  She also has a huge attachment to her baby cousins Cody, Scott, and Peter.  Chloe is not a little kid person, but she absolutely loves them to pieces.

Chloe is so happy at school and adores all of her lunchtime, classroom, and super close friends.  She is extremely loyal and truly loves all of you.  She talks about all of you so animatedly.  Thank you all for being so kind and good to her.  Goddard has really felt like a family for her.

She really needs all of your support in the next few months because she will be missing school and all of you.  As soon as she is up to it, we welcome you all to come hang out.  Please call and email her to keep her up to date with all of the things going on at school.  She was really disappointed to miss twin day.  Thank you for all of your messages.  I am reading them to her every day.

  3. Hi Chloebear,

Saw you this morning; was relieved that your face wasn't that swollen yet. You still look like our lovable Chloebear. We walk a fine line -- want you to know we're there, but can't overstimulate and get you excited. Scooping you up and running out of the hospital crosses my crazy mind! We know you have the best care and the love, support and prayers of family and friends. Hang in there. We love you Chloebear!Grandma & Grandpa Schram

  6. Chloe:
Cameron said the Turkey Trot was pointless, so don't be sad that you missed it. (Still don't understand it!) Glad that you are being your spunky self! Been thinking about the different types of smoothies we were talking about on our way to dance...fruit, veggie, meat...yummy! Wondering what type of smoothie you want Cameron to bring you when you get home? :)
Rest in the hospital, you'll get to move around soon enough and there are lots of people who want to come see you.
Tommy and Nicole...continuing to pray for strength for you two and Katie and Tessa. We love you guys!

  13. It's amazing the strength God provides when you need it. What an army you have in Him, as well as all of your friends and loved ones that surround you. You have NO idea how you've been on all of our minds (including several sleepless hours thinking of Chloe, and praying for her continued recovery). Thank you so much for updating all of us who care for your family and Chloe. Stay strong for your daughters, but feel free to release on any one of us...

    Chloe:
You rock! Makenzie hasn't quit whining about how she misses you so... She's looking so forward to you coming home and being ready for visitors! You are an inspriation to all of these girls. :)

  14. Hi Nicole,
I always knew you were something, and this certainly confirms it. I think about all of you every second of the day and read every word you write and the wonderful postings from your family and friends. You are blessed in so many ways. I have contacted my friends and have Chloe on two big prayer circles. It all seems to be working!! Went to school today to pick up the canned goods, towels and socks. There were 16 big cases of food, which I delivered to 2 food banks. LVH did good!! A mountain of towels and blankets and socks that I will pick up on Tuesday. I wish there was more we could do for all of you.
    Love, Wendy

  16. Dear Chloebear,

I talked grandpa into taking me to see you tonight. I just had to see you before I went to sleep. We got there just before visiting hours ended. You were resting. Your face was very swollen, but my Chloe still shines through. Your Mom told me that she said the rosary today for the first time. When I got home, I also said the rosary. Haven't done that since I was a little girl attending Catholic school. Hope I said it right! I held your hand; don't know if you knew that we were there. I want time to fly by so that we can have you home again. Miss you soo much! Your Mom and Dad love spending time with you. Your Mom is with you during the day, and your Dad stays overnight. They love you so much. We all love you. Grandma S
